Pastor Victor Kanyari has spoken out regarding the ongoing tensions surrounding the late gospel singer Betty Bayo, the mother of his children, urging Tash to heed the advice and wishes of Betty’s mother.

However, he says, after hearing from Betty Bayo’s mother, he felt compelled to speak.
“Naitwa pastor Kanyari ama prophet Kanyari singependa sana kuongelelea mambo ya Betty Bayo ama mama ya watoto wangu, sikutaka kuongelelea hayo maneno, nimejua mambo mengi lakini nimenyamaza kwa sababu nilikuwa nataka tu kunyamaza,”Kanyari said.
“Lakini baada ya mama ya Betty Bayo kuongea nikatamani kuongea.”
The Pastor further highlighted the deep pain of the bereaved mother.
“Huyo mama mumeona ndio mama ambaye amekufiwa na mtoto wake,wananchi wanafakujua huyo mama ambaye ako America ako na uchungu sana , mimi nimekufiwa na mama ya watoto wangu, Tash amekufiwa na aliye kuwa mke wake,kwa maana walikuwa wameachana miezi tatu za mwisho, lakini huyo mama huyo ndio mtoto wake,” he explained.
He urged Tash to listen to and respect Mama Betty’s advice.
“Nko na huzuni sana juu ya huyo mama nimemuhurumia na ningeomba Tash, sikiliza tu mawaidha ya huyo mama. Tasha, usipate laana ya aliye kufa ama ya huyo mama akiwa hai, sikiliza tu mawaidha ya huyo mama,” Kanyari added.
Kanyari emphasised that while others may underestimate the grief of Betty Bayo’s mother, he cannot.
“Watu wanaweza dharau huyo mama, lakini mimi siwezi kumdharau huyo mama ameekufiwa na mtoto wake; huyo tu ndio mtoto alikuwa anamsaidia, ndio mtoto ambaye alimpeleka mpaka ng’ambo, na ni mtoto ambaye alimjengea,” he stated.
The self-proclaimed prophet added that even though the children are his, he will still listen to Betty’s mother.
“Ata mimi pastor Kanyari, nitasikiliza huyo mama kenye atasema, ni sawa watoto ni wangu lakini nitasikiliza huyo mama,” Kanyari noted.
“The reason why si kimbi sana juu ya watoto nimenyamaza na jiangalilia.”
Stressing the importance of compassion and respect for grieving parents, Kanyari advised Tash to respect the wishes of Betty Bayo’s mother.
“Ningependa kuadvice Tash, ni vizuri tusikilize huyo mama na wishes zake,” he said.
Mama Betty on Kanyari
Kanyari’s remarks come after Betty’s mother, on the night of Saturday, December 6, 2025, in a live session with Joyce Wairimu, praised him, describing the pastor as a good man with whom she maintains a cordial relationship.
Joyce revealed that she has been in direct communication with Kanyari regarding the custody of his children, Sky and Danny.
She urged the self-styled prophet to prioritise seeking full custody of the children to ensure their safety and well-being.
“Besides everything I have said about Tash, I want to say that Kanyari is a good man, and we have a very good friendship. With these new developments, I spoke to him recently and asked him to prioritise seeking full custody of his children,” she said.
